Weronika Hipp (G 5’6”, 2001) from Poland

Weronika is a talented guard with regular length, who possesses a body still under construction. Despite of that, she displays remarkable quickness and explosiveness. She has a great scoring mentality, but we can’t consider to her a selfish player. Hipp doesn’t refuse to take responsibilities on the court, even at the end of the games.

In the D end, Weronika displays quite good mobility and activity on the ball, and is able to steal the ball either off the dribbling or coming from the weak side. Despite of that, Hipp should extend the effort and sometimes she seems a bit distracted guarding the opponent without the ball. Her footwork allows her to chase the ball through the ball-screens, but still struggles guarding from the contact.

The Polish shows a great quickness running the floor, and her mobility through the O screens allows her to take enough space to catch the ball to attack the rim. We wouldn’t think on her as a primary PG, but her dribbling skills are good enough to pass the defender in that situations (either change-of-pace or using crossover dribbling). Weronika is a scorer, but we shouldn’t underrate her vison court and passing skills. As a scoring Guard, Hipp possesses a wide repertoire in its O fundamentals: floaters, layups and shooting ability are in her O arsenal. She is a huge shooter (maybe has not high point release), with quick release and solid release. Weronika is able to take shots from really deep.
