Emy Hayford (SG 5’8″, 2001) from Netherlands

Emy has regular length for a SG, possesses big hands and wingspan, and displays promising explosiveness/athleticism. Hayford also has quite good quickness with the ball. Emy seems a tireless prospect with a great motor, who is able to do a lot of things on the court.

In the D end, Emy shows interesting aggressiveness and she usually takes advantage of her mobility to steal or deflect coming from the weak side (also quick hands). Hayford is able to offer a double effort to double-team an opponent in the corners. Her mobility and footwork chasing through the screens are also mentionable.

The Dutch can take the ball from side to side in open court, and is really brave driving the ball to the rim, even in traffic, showing an ability to slide through the defenders, but hardly ever uses its left hand. Emy displays a good rolling finger and she is explosiveness playing 1-and-1 plays from the 3p line (1st crossover step). Hayford is not good enough in her play selection yet, but works really hard the offensive rebound coming from the wings. She shows good passing skills, but raw knowledge of 2nd defensive line. Emy possesses interesting shooting skills, and good range, displaying both spot shots and shot-of-the-dribbling in the correct way.
