Anna Gamarra (F 6’3″, 2001) from Spain

Anna is a lanky stretch-4 with correct length, interesting wingspan but still skinny, who needs to fill the frame in order to put more explosiveness into its game, and translate all the game which she has in her mind and is not able to display in the court yet. She has good O fundamentals, runs quite well the court, but struggles in the game through the contact.

In the D end, Gamarra shows promising mobility, but still struggles to stop face-off plays against athletic SFs due her lacks of explosiveness. Her knowledge, mobility and wingspan package allows Anna to steal or deflect coming from the weak side. She has a good rebounding routine (boxing out and intuition) but often she is moved from the right spot due her lack of weight. Anna doesn’t refuse to do an extra effort in double team (half court press) or helping and recovering (still a bit slow).

In the O end, Gamarra usually is in the correct spot at the right time (for intuition, not for reading the O system), and she often take advantage of her good hands and soft touch for scoring close to the rim. Anna displays a quite good mobility on this side, can put the ball on the floor and she is able to take the ball from D to O in open court. Despite of that, she should improve her athletic package in order to be more dangerous in the face-off game. Gamarra also has correct passing skills, which allows her to play correctly in pairs with the other inside player. As a promising stretch-4, Anna possesses great shooting skills and respectable range. She is really good from 15-19 feet, where she displays natural mechanics and a quick release (catch and shot).
