Katrine Jessen (PF 6’3″, 2001) from Denmark

Katrine is a PF with interesting size and length, but she is still building her athleticism. She also possesses good hands, nice mobility and great wingspan. It seems that she doesn’t feel comfortable playing through the contact (lacks huge strength and explosiveness), but she doesn’t refuse to play inside the paint and boxing out on D.

In the D end, Jessen displays good lateral mobility to guard face off game against Stretch-4, but her explosiveness doesn’t allow her to defend athletic players yet. Jessen has good feeling for the game, and we usually can see her coming from the weak side for stealing or deflecting. Her mobility and wingspan package allows Katrine to become in interesting rim protector showing up from nowhere. Despite she lacks a huge strength, Jessen has a good boxing out discipline, and take advantage of its wingspan to grab rebounds in both sides of the court.

In the O end, the Danish show a soft touch close to the rim (usually with right hand) and her footwork close to the paint is really good. Despite of her promising shooting skill set, she is not a real threat from the midrange yet. Her average from the charity line is still low. Katrine plays a bit shy putting screens, because she has not a really strong body yet. Jessen is able to put the ball on the floor really well due her dribbling fundamentals, and often she plays face off game from the 3 point line. She usually gets profit of those situations, either to draw a foul from your defender or scoring after reverse move and bank shot. Jesses is not a selfish player, and share the ball from the block in the correct way. If she raise her shooting average from the mid-range, she will become in a great O player at the next level.
