Zoe Slagter (C/PF 6’1”, late 2000) from Netherlands

Zoe is an inside player with a well-built body and promising athleticism. Although she is a bit undersize for a C, Slagter also has remarkable strength, quite good explosiveness and runs really well the court. With a wide frame, it seems that she has arrived to the top of development, but she is still developing her athletics fundamentals.

In the O end, Zoe displays an interesting shooting skills package, with an interesting spot-shot release and shows some flashes in the catch-and-shot situations (but mid-range, smooth movements and irregular average). Maybe she should use more jump-shots, in order to adapt its strength in the mid-range shots. Slagter is a much disciplined player on this side of the court and, even she lacks a great (and natural) knowledge, she is able to execute correctly the offense and play without ball in the correct way. She might be an interesting team role player. Her body allows her to seal a spot inside the paint, and she shows some flashes of interesting footwork. Although she has not a great dribbling skills set, Slagter is able to put the ball on the floor, which allows her to attack the defender face-to-face and she usually gets (at least) some fouls.

In the D end, the Dutch has a tremendous boxing-out discipline and, although she lacks a great lateral mobility, she might become in an interesting rebounder at the next level. As we said, Slagter has not a huge lateral mobility, but she is able to either chase the ball when she was switching in a ball-screen or stop the opponent who is guarding at the block. When she is coming from the weak side, Zoe is also able to disturb some shots (but she is not still a real rim protector).
