Estel Puiggros (PG 5’9”, 2001) from Spain

We have to warn you that we are not going to be fair with you, because we got in love the first time we saw Estel playing for Segle XXI. She is a talented player, with a good length for age and position. Estel plays fearless, and displays great fundamentals both shooting and dribbling the ball. Her athleticism is quite good (quickness and explosiveness), and she will keep improving her strength in natural way for sure.

In the O end, Puiggros shows a good ball-handling ability, and usually pass the defender with a natural crossover (even behind the back) and interesting change-of-pace dribbling. She usually uses both hands in the dribbling, although she feels more comfortable with her right hand. She has an upper scoring mentality, and loves to shot the ball from 4-5 meters and beyond. Her shooting release is really good, and has a huge shot off the dribbling release. Even though that scoring ability, she has a good vision court, and is an interesting player making decisions, but her passing skills are still improvable. Ester has been improving her knowledge and tactician since last summer, due to she has spent many minutes on the court in semi-pro league in Spain (Liga Femenina of FEB competition).

On the D end, Puiggros displays an interesting intensity and defends with aggressiveness the passing-line, which allows her to disturb or steal the ball many times. Her lacks of strength is a handicap in order to defend an explosiveness player in first step crossover, but she is able to get back in front the ball. The Spaniard also has quick hands, stealing from the dribbling.
