Oceane Monpierre (SG 5’7”, 2000) from France after Udine 2016 U16
Oceane is an outstanding athlete at this stage (and maybe also for the next stage). She is a bit undersize, but her explosiveness and powerful is remarkable for a SG at this level.
She candrive and run from side to side in a hurry, and her 1st crossover step allows her to past every defender who tries guarding her. She also has a good leap ability, which allows her to grab a good number of rebounds in the both boards. Her shooting mechanics (jump-shot and FT’s) are quite good, and she is almost unstoppable at this stage when she is driving to the rim (powerful, quickness, ball-handler and determination). Monpierre is able to put the ball inside the paint, or create her own shots from her face-off 1c1 game. Oceane possesses a nice layups repertoire: rolling fingers, floaters, from the contact….
On the D end, the French takes advantage of her physically tools to guard the ball and become a real ball-handling stopper.
