Ana Maria Marukat (G 5-11, 2000) after Matosinhos U20 2016
Promising and smart leader team with a great killir instinct and huge self-confidence, who can play in each 3 “wing” spots. Good size when she plays as a PG/CG, possesses a nice WS but has not an outstanding athleticism yet. She displays a good activity and mobility on the court, but her footwork on D is not quick enough and struggles a bit chasing the player with and without the ball through the screens or ballscreens. Anna has a winner character, and she wants the ballall the time, and loves take the shots in scary moments. Good dribbling skills are in her O skill set, including the between the legs/behind the back crossover. Ana is an unselfish player with quite good passing skills, and is able to play P-and-R situations really well, although she needs to improve her esplosiveness and speedness. Marukat also possesses great shooting skills, with a nice catch-and-shot mechanic, and her shot-off-the-dribbling release is remarkable (mechanichs and quickness). She loves taking shots after a quite good P-and-Roll situation. She also loves arriving and make a quick shot when she feels confidence. Struggles a bit putting the ball at block. She displays a quite good change-of-pace dribbling when she’s driving to the rim, but she has not a great leaping ability. Her vision court and passing skills are aslo remarkable, and sometimes we can see her driving in traffic and dishing the ball correctly.
